When something looks wrong

A calendar that stopped updating, a link that was rejected, events that are not where you expected them.

My calendar stopped updating

The usual cause is that the link is a downloaded file rather than a subscription. A file cannot update, so the schedule is frozen at the moment you added it.

Go back to the league site for the Subscribe or iCal link, then open the calendar from Calendars and paste it under Paste a new link. Everything else about the calendar stays as it is.

How often it refreshes

Calendars refresh in the background every day, and again while you are using the app when one has gone more than fifteen minutes stale. You can also force one: open the calendar and press Sync now.

The calendar page shows when it last synced, so you can tell the difference between a feed that is quiet and a feed that is stuck.

My link was rejected

The most common reason is the provider not matching the link. A SportsEngine address pasted under Crossbar is refused, because the two are checked against different rules.

Pick the provider that matches where the link came from, or choose Another calendar link, which accepts any standard feed. Whatever you typed stays in the form — you never have to start over.

Someone cannot see an event

Check the calendar's sharing setting first. A calendar set to Household only never appears on an invite link, and a single event can be overridden the same way.

Also check who the calendar is assigned to. Events show up for the people assigned to that calendar, so a new child added after the import may need assigning under Save assignments.

Still stuck

Email hello@therefor.app. Tell us which league and which provider, and we will look at the feed with you.
